creative love poem poetry relations verse

Before you say good morning

the sunlight dances

its way through the clouds outside

and shades within

to find my eyelids and caress them open

and the first thing I see is you

quiet and still

dark hair against the pillow

a half smile on your face

a remnant

of some pleasant dream

perhaps of me

I reach over

and run my fingers

across the softness of your cheek

and enjoy the response

as you move into the touch

and snuggle into me

soon you will awaken

and your thoughts may be of money

of chores needed doing

of trips and directions

of work and worry

but in this moment

you are all mine.
